My areas of specialisation are in plant anatomy, palynology and plant micromorphology. My areas of research are plant systematic and plant taxonomy. I have awarded a few grants since 2003, ‘Comprehensive Leaf Anatomy, Micromorphology, Palynology and Phytochemistry of Dipterocarpaceae EAR No. 09 – 02 - 02 (2003 - 2006)’, ‘Comprehensive Leaf Anatomy and Palynology of Annonaceae UKM-ST-01-FRGS0030-2006 (2007- 2008)’, ‘Comprehensive Leaf Anatomy, Micromorphology and Palynology of Hibiscus DANA GALAKAN (Jun – Disember 2008)’, ‘Comprehensive Leaf Anatomy, Micromorphology, Palynology and Phytochemistry of Bombacaceae UKM-ST-08-FRGS0003-2007 (2007 - 2009)’ and ‘Palynology (Pollen Morphology) of Selected Habitat and Ecosystem UKM-GUP-ASPL-08-05-219 (2007 - 2009)’.
